The construction of the XKG Down Transition Pant exemplifies the performance qualities of the XKG Series and sets a new standard for lightweight and packable layering. This puffy pant is built with 135 grams of 650 fill waterproof down, this pant has the best warmth to weight ratio of anything in the XKG line-up. This pant easily fits over any mid-layer piece and can be worn under any of our shell pieces for when conditions are at their toughest.
Traditional down has its shortcomings when it gets wet – it loses all its lofting and insulating power and takes forever to dry. That’s why King's Camo has chosen a new waterproof treated down technology to overcome these faults and deliver a pant that pushes the expectation of packable down. The exceptional insulating power of this pant can quickly go from compressed to lofted and traps more air than lesser fills to keep you warmer and performing at a high level.
King's Camo has also added the most durable lightweight windproof nylon outer fabric along with a DWR finish to protect you ever more when the conditions are extreme. This pant packs into its left side pocket for easy storage and only weighs less than a pound. It has a comfort stretch waist band with belt loops, ¾ length zippers on the left and right side, zippers side pockets, and the ability to pack into its left side pocket for easy storage. Finished with XKG and King’s logoing on the pull tabs, hip and calf. This pant will thrive during long glassing sessions, testing days in the tree stand, and sleeping or lounging around camp.
Field Notes
"These down pants are awesome!! I use them on late season hunts when I'm glassing for long periods of time. I would recommend covering the pant with a light rain pant, which will help cut the wind, keep the moisture out, and protect the pant from sharp surfaces. Another way I've used these is to stay warm in my sleeping bag, because sometimes, even 0 degree bags don't cut it, especially on late season backpack hunts that go through from November through January."
