We are seeking an experienced Content Marketing Specialist to create, edit, and manage content for marketing channels for BlackOvis.com and Camofire.com. This role is responsible for managing the digital marketing channels for our two brands by overseeing the editorial calendar and engaging with our community online.

This role is key to creating value for our customers and for attracting/retaining customers by delivering a premiere experience as they engage with our brand through various touchpoints. Successfully executing on content creation represents who we are as educators and retailers by adding legitimacy to our brands along with how we engage with customers through tone and voice.

A successful candidate will be an expert in ecommerce and storytelling through various forms of content to inspire our customers to experience the outdoors with our product. A forward thinker coming up with original and creative ideas on what content we should be creating and curating to support marketing campaigns. An ideal candidate will have a proven track record with managing digital marketing channels and campaigns for a brand along with reporting ongoing performance to support business objectives.

Creating and Editing Content:

  • Create and edit content to support our blog, website, and social media channels
  • Work close with content creators to plan, edit, and publish content on the blog
  • Ideate and write scripts for videos with our videographer that support campaigns
  • Ensure content is optimized for SEO
  • Follow editorial guidelines and style guide for both brands
  • Engage with customers on social channels and online forums through the brand voice
  • Speak to products and brands we carry to engage with customers considering gear for their hunts and outdoor adventures
  • Proficient with shooting social videos for quick edits and provide direction to videographer for other video needs
  • Comfortable being in front of the camera to demonstrate a product or interview brand partners or brand ambassadors 

Social Channels Ownership:

  • Responsible for publishing content on a daily basis for BlackOvis and Camofire social channels
  • Ongoing customer engagement on social channels, social listening, and engaging with key opportunities with current and prospective customers
  • Publish videos created by our videographer to support campaigns and curate videos from brands we partner with to support GTM campaigns and promotions
  • Provide reporting on follower growth, engagement, traffic, and sales from social channels
  • Collaborate with paid media partner to coordinate content publishing across channels
  • Launch TikTok account in collaboration with Videographer and Marketing team 

Editorial Calendar Management:

  • Manage editorial calendar to publish content on the blog, social channels, and podcast (launching in 2024)
  • Work close with buying and merchandising teams to support key initiatives
  • Optimize and adjust content cadence or style as needed to meet channel goals and business objectives

Skills Needed:

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Videographer to develop and manage content for our brand. This role is responsible for the procurement, creation and management of all video and image content for BlackOvis.com and Camofire.com.

This role is key to creating value for our customers and for attracting/retaining customers. Successfully executing on content creation represents who we are as educators and retailers by adding legitimacy to our brands. A successful candidate will be an expert in ecommerce and storytelling through various forms of content to inspire our customers to experience the outdoors with our product. A forward thinker coming up with original and creative ideas on how to position our brand and products based on the directive received will be well rewarded with opportunity and growth.

Video Content:

  • Plan and execute product video production. Work closely with the marketing director, merchandising manager, and the buying team to determine the best products and seasonally relevant topics to select.
  • Video shooting - mix of in house and field videos geared toward education and selling of product
  • Determining format, style, direction of product videos
  • Video editing and procuring audio and music
  • Publish videos on YouTube and inclusion on website product/brand pages
  • Select best timing for specific content based on seasonality
  • Find ways to elevate the content and projects you’re working on
  • Launch TikTok channel and video creation in support with Content Marketing Specialist

YouTube Channel Ownership:

  • Responsible for writing video descriptions that are inline with branding guidelines and SEO best practices
  • Work with marketing director to create harmony between content and paid advertising strategies
  • Utilize all areas of YouTube (full videos, shorts, feed updates) to grow brand presence.
  • Provide reporting on subscriber growth, retention, traffic, and other kpi’s 

Product and lifestyle images:

  • Shoot and edit needed product images for website
  • In studio and field images to support marketing initiatives
  • Shoot supporting product images that will help in sales conversion on the website

Content Trips:

Plan, research and prepare for content gathering trips with key brand partners Travel, although not extensive, will be required to successfully fulfill this role. Estimated travel time on an annual basis will be 3-5 weeks. This will be based on goals established by the Marketing Director in collaboration with the Content Coordinator.

Edit and produce BlackOvis Podcast:

We have put together a plan to launch a podcast. Helping to shape, create, record, edit and launch this podcast is an opportunity for this candidate to manage another content avenue. 

Skills Needed:

  • Proficient in creating, editing, and publishing videos including animations optimized for YouTube, social channels, and ecommerce
  • Efficient with Adobe Creative Suite, Davinci, Final Cut Pro, and other relevant software
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment to support our inline product along with brands we partner with.
  • Proficient in still photography
  • You’re a problem solver. Whether on a shoot or in the studio, things happen. You roll with a dead battery or a less than ideal mic and seek solutions.

Although job training is available, experience in the archery industry and especially with cutting, fletching, and wrapping arrows is preferred and may qualify you for a higher starting pay.

Archery Technicians are responsible to complete all steps necessary to prepare and build arrows in a timely and efficient manner according to custom specifications including cut, insert, wrap, fletch, and nock. They also are responsible for inventory management, specifically in receiving and maintaining correct inventory numbers. If workflow ebbs for a time, they may also be asked to complete other assignments within the company as needed.
